An Introduction to my Maths Groups

My group sessions offer several benefits over 1:1 tutoring. They offer more support including workshops, assessments (KS4) and parent check ins but for less price than a one to one session. They also have the added bonus of promoting mathematical discussion, learning from others, and the opportunity to develop skills such as communication and collaboration. 

The group sessions will be priced at £55 per week (when there is a live session)

Payment will be taken after each session

• Year 11 and 10 groups will be maxed at 5 students per group
• The KS3 Group will be maxed at 7 students per group 

 All sessions will be recorded and you can access them with a couple of hours of the session ending. You can then watch it at a more convenient time.

This is one of the most exciting features of the group sessions. 

These workshops will be designed to help you and your child maximise their independent work.
Topics will include: how to revise effectively for a test, how to work at home, how to maximise your working memory and how to support your child with their Maths anxiety. I’ve been running these workshops since 2022 and have had some brilliant feedback. See an example of an early workshop here.

In the last week of each half term you will be a mini assessment focused on allowing students to apply their Maths to exam style questions. This is all about building familiarity with ‘exam style’ questions and helping students Get Exam Ready. Each assessment will be accompanied with by videos to mark them at your convenience and help students focus their independent work going forward. I’ve been using this approach with a Year 11 group this year and the feedback has been hugely positive e.g. “he’s got so much out of this approach and his grades reflect this”

 This question will be different to your ‘typical’ Maths questions. You'll have to think creatively to solve it whilst also applying your Maths. Be prepared to be challenged!
